Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026. This guide separates the current official launch plan from assumptions that continue to circulate around platforms and release timing.

The date that matters

Rockstar moved the game to Thursday, November 19, 2026 and said the added development time was intended to deliver the expected level of polish. The company has continued to use that date in its 2026 release and pre-order material.

Treat November 19 as the active official date, while remembering that any unreleased game can still change. A retailer listing, social post or creator prediction does not replace a Rockstar announcement.

Confirmed platforms

The announced launch platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo hardware or a PC release.

The absence of a PC announcement is not proof that a PC edition will never exist. It only means that there is currently no official date, specification or purchase option to report.

Pre-load and physical copies

Digital pre-loading is scheduled to begin at local midnight on November 12. Rockstar also says physical boxes will begin shipping or become available for pickup on that date so buyers can redeem the included download code and pre-load.

The physical box contains a digital download code rather than a game disc. Buyers should match PlayStation codes to the region of their platform account. Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked.

What to check before buying

Confirm the region of a PlayStation account, check whether the retailer is selling a digital or boxed code, and make sure the console has enough free storage once Rockstar publishes the final download size.

Vicefile will update this page when Rockstar publishes installation size, performance modes or a PC announcement. Until then, claims about those details belong in the unconfirmed column.
